Poland (Part 2)

June 1, 2013 8:00 PM—Krakow

We battled the rain today, but I can't say that the rain won. This morning we went out to Wawel, which is a hill down near the river. On top of the hill is a castle and a cathedral. So we climbed the hill (it wasn't a very big hill) and first we went into the cathedral. This is where John Paul II said his first mass as a priest. After that we saw a bit of the castle. First we went into an archaeological exhibition and then we saw “The Dragon's Den”, which is a cave inside the hill.

Once we were done at Wawel, we made our way back down to the main square, which is near our hostel. There are two churches in the square that we went to see and then we did a little shopping. After all that we came back and took a little nap before going out and getting some dinner.

Tomorrow we are going to Warsaw, but only for one night. Then we will make our way out to Germany, where I think we are going to stop in Hamburg before catching the ferry to Sweden on Monday night.
